About GypSea Yoga School

Why GypSea?

Because we are all in a constant stage of change, a constant state of becoming, and the sea is where we find connection and deep bliss.

We honor yoga as a path through which everyone can become their most divine selves. Embarking on this journey means a quest for self-knowledge, love, and freedom. We are committed to raising the collective consciousness through meditation, breath, movement and service. Our heart-centered approach donates a portion of all profits to Kids' Foundation for Uniting Nations.

Gypsea Yoga 200 hr YTT was an incredible experience. I really recommend Gypsea Yoga from the bottom of my heart. You come out learning so much more than just how to become a yoga teacher. It was a life changing experience for me, and some of the lessons I learnt are some of the most valuable ones.

If you are looking for some awesome, knowledgeable people to work with, these are the guys I highly recommend. Their friendliness and result-driven approach is what I love about them.

Ruchi

What a truly life changing experience. The course itself was a journey into self discovery, self love and pushing limits. I highly recommend this class for anyone looking to deepen their own practice or wanting to venture into the teaching world.

Founder, Lead Facilitator

Hi, I’m Courtney, an ex-gymnast, spinally fused, 18-year yogi, Ashtangi, trained in India, with a gypSEA soul whose practice draws from hatha, kundalini and vinyasa. My heart-centered approach evokes an understanding of interconnectedness through a focus on self-love, nature and seva (service). The intention being for my students to discover the light within that ignites their path to inner peace, the connection which opens the heart to universal love.

After 10 years as a competitive gymnast, lower back surgery brought my athletic ability to a halt. Looking for a way to ease the pain and regain strength and flexibility, I discovered yoga and immediately fell in love with the practice, quickly learning its transformational power over the mind and path to freedom. Embarking on this journey meant a lifelong quest for self-knowledge, love, and humility. In 2010 I volunteered in India and earned my yoga teaching certification. My time in India inspired me to establish my own NGO, Kids’ Foundation for Uniting Nations which connects and inspires kids around the world to initiate positive change through service.

Vanessa Voto

Lead Facilitator
E-RYT200, YACEP

I’m Vanessa, former dancer with a love for the art of movement. Yoga has gifted me the opportunity to connect, with the body, of course, but most importantly to my mind & spirit.
A practitioner for 10 years, a teacher since 2019, a student forever.
Teaching has allowed me to share how yoga has deeply changed my life. As your guide for practice, my goal is to bring you to your own conclusions & truth. To allow your external & physical movement to move the internal & subtle. In class you’ll find fluid movement & thoughtful sequencing focused heavily on transitions & strength. Hope to see you on your mat! Namaste

Yoga has been such a wonderful part of my life for over 20 years now, and this practice has helped me grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully.

I completed my 200 hour training with Sacred Hot Yoga Method and some advanced training in trauma sensitive yoga, as well as several types of Reiki, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and other healing modalities. I also am a 300 hour trauma based RYT through Soulwork.

I will always be a student of the practice and am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me.

In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of healing and a dose of inspiration to help all levels of practitioners deepen their practice. I seek to help others heal and love themselves more by nurturing body, mind and spirit with yoga, and my hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, loved and balanced.

RYT500, YIN YOGA INSTRUCTOR, CERTIFIED LIFE COACH

This first time I stepped on a yoga mat was the first time I pulled at a string that seems to be endlessly unraveling. Here I am, years later, pulling and unraveling, pulling and unraveling - only to remember that the work never really ends. This practice has given me my power back - the power of being aware enough to learn in every moment. I’ve learned that the only action between wanting to change and change is choice, that the ability to feel is a gift, & that this moment, right here, has all I need to “know”.

My teaching opens up the door for you to experiment with what you’ve got going on right here. I want to teach you to listen + be heard, to see + feel. Feel home in your body, and most certainly, sexy in your skin.

200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Our study focus is centered around the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Light on Yoga by BKS Iyengar. We will discuss each sutra thoroughly, breakdown common hatha and vinyasa asanas and work through sequencing and language for teaching classes. You will learn and practice many traditional pranayama and meditation techniques daily, immersed in the serenity of natural forests.
