Raja Yoga is the disciplined, meditation-focused path of yoga into which the many other paths culminate (Click here to learn more). This is appropriate for a 300 hour level course, as the teacher has a steady disciplined practice of at least 2 years and is ready dive even deeper into the meditative aspect.

  • History and philosophy of Raja Yoga as taught through the lineage of Swami Rama
  • Focus on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali & the Bhagavad Gita
  • Daily group and private meditation practice time
  • In-depth pranayama practice
  • Yoga Nidra
  • Asana alignment and advanced assists for Ashtanga Primary (and some Intermediate) Series
  • Analysis of current teaching style to improve: sequencing (for hatha and vinyasa), group dynamics, and how to lead and hold space for meditation and pranayama

Courtney, founder of Gypsea Yoga School is an ex-gymnast, spinally fused, 17-year yogi, Ashtangi, trained in India, with a gypSEA soul whose practice draws from ashtanga, hatha and vinyasa. Her heart-centered approach evokes an understanding of interconnectedness through a focus on self-love, nature and seva (service).
